I always had a hard time understanding the Beatles song, "Hard Day's Night." Now I understand.
We've been working on upgrading the appearance of the front of the house--the entire front door area, including railings, and also the big front gate. We've been sanding and scraping, discovering some rotten wood, digging it out and filling it with epoxy, and putting up new light fixtures by the front door. Sounds simple, right? We've been doing it for entire days at a time, sometimes hampered by unseasonal rain storms and wind.
That makes for some very hard days. At the end of the hard day comes the night. Not much of one, actually, because by the time we work until dark, get everything cleaned up, go home and take a shower, grab some dinner, there isn't much night left. It takes very little time for us to fall asleep in front of the TV. Actually, we couldn't stay awake if we tried.
